Fort Wayne Women on the Move was born from something we already knew: there is extraordinary talent in our community, but talent alone doesn't always get people access, opportunity or a seat at the table. Sometimes somebody has to open the door. Sometimes we have to build a new door altogether.

We are women who believe in doing just that.

We bring our experiences, professions, relationships and resources together to create opportunities for others. That may look like helping a young person discover what's possible for their future. It may mean bringing people together for an honest conversation about health, leadership or the issues affecting our community. It may be a room filled with women celebrating their stories through the arts, a workshop that helps professionals grow, or training that helps an organization better serve its people.

Our work isn't only for women. Our leadership is rooted in women.

We serve youth. Families. Professionals. Entrepreneurs. Organizations. And communities. Because when people have access to knowledge, opportunity and one another, they can do more than move forward individually they can help move an entire community forward.

And that's what Fort Wayne Women on the Move is about.

OUR STORY

What began with women coming together during Women's History Month to share our stories, celebrate our experiences and have conversations that weren't always happening in other spaces became something bigger.

We realized the women around that table and throughout this community carried decades of knowledge, education, professional experience, creativity and lived wisdom.

What if we brought all of that together and put it to work?

That's the heart of Fort Wayne Women on the Move today: women bringing what we know, who we are and what we've learned to the table—and making room at that table for others.
